Our mission, at P.S. 161, is to make our school child-oriented in an environment which promotes excellence. Through our open team approach, involving the entire school community, we aspire to create an atmosphere where children will exhibit a willingness to question, explore and share.

We will instill a love of learning so that all our children become contributing members of our society. We would like to foster lifelong goals of independent thinking, responsible citizenship, academic excellence, high standards, and an appreciation of individual differences.
